Redia Edna Sebastian, 88, of Jackson passed away Thursday, April 16, 2015 at the Monticello House. She was born June 27, 1926 in Whitewater, MO daughter of Alva and Minnie Nance Crader. She and Herbert P. Sebastian were married June 27, 1946 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tilsit, MO.
Redia was a longtime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She worked several years at the former Florscheim Shoe Factory in Cape Girardeau and the former Ethel’s Restaurant in uptown Jackson.
She is survived by a daughter, Dorothy “Dotty” (Randy) Gholson of Jackson; a foster son, Paul (Mary) Robertson of Cape Giradeau; daughter-in-law, Kathy Sebastian White of Jackson; 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 1 step great granddaughter, 4 sister-in-laws and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Herbert Sebastian; son, Arthur Sebastian; 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
Visitation will be 4-8 pm Friday, Apr 17, 2015 and 12-2 pm Saturday, Apr 18, 2015 at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. The funeral service will be 2 pm at the funeral home with Rev Mark Boettcher officiating. Burial will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund.
