Clodina Mann, 89, of Cape Girardeau, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2015, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born September 19, 1926, in Aquilla, Missouri, to Johnie W. and Mary E. Osborne Pruett.  She and the Rev. Charles H. Mann were married May 15, 1943, in Benton, Missouri.  They had been married 48 years when he passed away December 27, 1991.

Clodina and Charles were former residents of Dexter, Missouri; Sikeston, Missouri; and Truman, Arkansas, before moving to Jackson in 1982.  She worked 55 years babysitting children in her home.  She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Jackson.

Loving survivors include two children, Brenda (John) Shirley of Jackson, Jerry (Ruth Ann) Mann of McClure, Illinois; five grandchildren, Scott (Connie) Mann, Michelle (Shawn) Hinkle, Todd (Tammy) Shirley, Terry Shirley, Lisa (Patrick) Hammond; eight great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; two brothers, Loren Pruett of Bloomfield, Missouri, Cletus (Sharon) Pruett of Dexter; two sisters, Freeda Waggoner and Lora Cox of Dexter; a brother-in-law, Don Metcalf of Bloomfield; two sisters-in-law, Reva Pruett of Bloomfield, Faye Pruett of Kenton, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by asister, Velda Faye Metcalf; two brothers, Edsel and Carmen Pruett; and an infant sister, Verma Nancy Pruett.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 12, 2015, from 11 AM to service time, at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral will be Saturday at 1 PM, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kenneth Harper officiating.

Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Bell City, Missouri.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to the American Heart Association or the American Liver Foundation.

    Miss Clodina looked after my daughter Elizabeth Sanders from Nov. 2000 to August 2002. I was so very fortunate to have her touch my life and be such a big part of my daughter’s. Please accept my sincere condolences. The world is a brighter place having had Clodina in it. May God’s loving arms embrace you and your family during this time of grief so you feel the comfort and peace only He can give.
