Carrie “Edna” Wolfenkoehler, age 86, of Jackson, passed away Friday, March 6, 2015, at Auburn Creek Assisted Living in Cape Girardeau.  She will once again be with Dale, her beloved husband of 67 years, who passed away January 24, 2015.

Edna was born September 1, 1928 in Millersville, the daughter of David A. and Carrie A. Estes Lange.  She and Dale K. Wolfenkoehler were married December 25, 1947 at Millersville.

Edna was a long time member of the Emanuel United Church of Christ in Jackson where she taught Sunday School for several years, was a member of the church bible study group, the Women’s Fellowship, and Friendship Circle.  She attended Cape College High School and then graduated from Jackson High School. She worked for the former Kroger Egg Grading Plant in Jackson for twenty years, and later worked at the former Golden Corral in Jackson.

Loving survivors include three children, Judy Mouser of Cape Girardeau, Susan (Clay) Brown of Florissant, MO and Rick (Cheryl) Wolfenkoehler of Sikeston; eight grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Edna was preceded in death by a son, James Wolfenkoehler September 2, 2010; three brothers, David, Robert, and Estes Lange; and three sisters, Vesta Mae Meyer, Tavia Niemann, and Virgie Dell Lange.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 8, 2015 from 12 noon until time of service at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. The Funeral Service will be at 2:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home with Rev. Mindy Kiepe and Rev. Sam Roethemeyer officiating. Burial will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to Emmanuel United Church of Christ in Jackson or Auburn Creek Assisted Living in Cape Girardeau.
