Evelyn Robinson, age 90, formerly of Jackson passed away Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Morningside of Branson Meadows in Branson, Missouri.
She was born March 22, 1925 in Bernie, Missouri, daughter of Richard and Effie Jerls McCamish. She and Hansel Robinson were married January 11, 1946 at the Church of God in Dexter, Missouri.
Evelyn and her family moved to Cape Girardeau in 1964 and became members of the General Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau. In 1986, she and Hansel moved to Jackson and in 1990 moved their church membership to Connection Point Church in Jackson. Evelyn and her husband started The Joy Group and soon everyone was enjoying her baking creations, which she became known for at Connection Point. Evelyn retired after 35 years in the Boy Scouts of America office in Cape Girardeau. She was always noted for her office managerial skills and the ability to get things done right. Evelyn will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Loving survivors include her husband of 70 years; a son, James (Rita) Robinson of Traverse City, Michigan; two daughters, Ellen Robinson of Jackson, and Joanna (David) Clifton of Branson, Missouri; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and four sisters.
Friends may call Wednesday, March 23, 2016 from 12 pm until service time at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at 1:00 pm, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Chris Vaught officiating.
Interment will follow in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to Connection Point Ministries.
