Laura W. Rilo, 98, of Jackson, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born August 7, 1913, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of David and Ollie Miller Williams. She and Joseph Rilo were married July 6, 1940 in New York City. He passed away November 11, 1972.
Laura and her husband lived in New York until Joseph’s retirement, at which time they moved to St. Louis. After Joe’s death in 1972, Laura moved to Jackson to be near family. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson for 30 years.
Loving survivors include a nephew, Robert (Mary) Dumey of Jackson; two great nephews, Mike (Betsey) Dumey of Cape Girardeau, Mark (Laura) Dumey of Jackson; their mother, Winnie Dumey of Jackson; two great nieces, Rev. Karen Dumey of Jackson, Shirlie (Tom) Wright of Union, MO; and a step-son, Jose Rilo of LaCoruna, Spain.
She was preceded in death by a brother, two sisters, and a nephew, Ralph Dumey.
Friends may call Saturday, May 19, 2012 from 8:30 – 9:30 at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
Funeral Mass will be Saturday, at 10:00 AM, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Msgr. Ed Eftink officiating.
Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
The family suggests memorials be made to Immaculate Conception Building Fund.
