Melba Laverne Beard, age 93, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2012 at the Jackson Manor Nursing Home in Jackson.

She was born November 26, 1918 in Lutesville, MO, daughter of Marvin and Permelia Ridings Jackson.

Melba worked many years at Bussman Fuse Company in St. Louis and also provided in home compassion care for the elderly. She was of the Pentecostal faith.

Loving survivors include two daughters-in-law, Anne Beard and Ella Mae Beard both of Jackson; seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her two sons Kenneth and Darrell Beard, three sisters and one brother.

Friends may call Sunday, July 15, 2012 from 12:00 pm until time of service at the McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

Funeral service will be Sunday, July 15th, at 2:00 pm, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mike Huffman officiating.

Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

The family suggests that memorials be made to Southeast Hospice.
