Hermine Wachter, 81, of Jackson, passed away Thursday, May 20, 2010 at her home.
She was born September 25, 1928, near Frankfurt, Germany, daughter of Hermann and Anna Ortwine Pfluger. She and Norman Wachter were married February 14, 1961.
Hermine worked five years at the former Jackson Hosiery Mill, and then provided quality child care in her home for 40 years until her retirement, due to failing health. A devoted wife, mother, and friend, she truly enjoyed her family, friends, and the children she cared for. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson.
Loving survivors include her husband of 49 years; a daughter and son-in-law, Christy and Tony Pogue of Jackson; two grandsons, Mitchell and Christian Pogue; a brother, Heinrich Pfluger of Ober Semen, Germany; and three nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call Saturday, May 22, 2010 from 4-7:30 PM at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
Funeral service will be Saturday, at 7:30 PM at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Johnson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Southeast Hospice or the charity of your choice.
