J T “Bo” Haimes, 90, of Millersville, MO, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born October 28, 1925, in Strugis, MS, son of Henry Clay and Mary Ila Taylor Haimes. He and Freeda Brooks were married December 18, 1949. She passed away January 27, 2004.
Bo grew up farming in Mississippi and Arkansas where he and his brothers would break mules for their father, often complaining that he only bought unbroken mules because they were cheaper. After moving to California, J T started his career as a heavy equipment operator working for several companies retiring from CSB Construction where he had worked for 30 plus years. He was a member Local 3 Operating Engineers in the San Francisco Bay area. Additionally he was a 33 degree Mason. Bo was loved by all who knew him he loved to garden and was generous with his bounty.
Loving survivors include his son John A. Haimes (Lonna) of Millersville, a daughter Carol Janeen Machado (Greg) of Fremont, CA, four grandchildren, James and Julie Brooks, Amanda Scherer and Philip Howard and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Freeda, seven brothers and sisters and a grandson Jeremy Machado.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at 2:00 pm at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson, MO with Rev. Ken Harper officiating.
