Joanie Reiminger Hendricks, 57, of Jackson, passed away peacefully at Saint Francis Medical Center, Friday, January 23, 2015, surrounded by family and friends.

She was born May 22, 1957, in Cape Girardeau, to Raymond and JoAnn Biler Reiminger.  She and John Hendricks were married August 2, 1996, at St. Vincent Church in Cape Girardeau.

Joanie graduated from Jackson High School in 1975 and earned a bachelor degree from Southeast Missouri State University in 1979.  She was currently employed as a Purchasing Specialist in Resin and Film at Mondi in Cape Girardeau.  Her coworkers affectionately called her the “Resin Queen”.

Joanie loved gardening, flipping through her vast cookbook collection, watching HGTV and the Food Network, and listening to any and all live music she could find.  Her smile was infectious and her laughter was well known through the hallways at Mondi.  For many years, she enjoyed being Jo-Jo the clown and and entertaining children.  Above all, she especially loved being Grandma Jo to her grandson, August, who was born in April, 2014.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson.

Loving survivors include her husband of nearly 19 years, John of Jackson; two daughters, Molly (Eric) Goetz and Madison “Madi” Hendricks, both of Jackson; a son, Sam Hahs of Cape Girardeau; a stepdaughter, Emily Hendricks (Mathies) Jensen of Cape Girardeau; a grandson August Goetz of Jackson; her father, Raymond Reiminger of Jackson; five siblings, David (Fay) Reiminger, Robert (Debbie) Reiminger, Joseph (Cindy) Reiminger, all of Jackson, Luella (Eric) Thompson of Cape Girardeau, Mary Sue Schaefer (Dick Griffiths) of Crystal City; and a brother-in-law, Larry (Candy) Hendricks of Cape Girardeau.  Joanie also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, all of which were very close to her heart.

She was preceded in death by her mother, JoAnn Reiminger, in 2009.

The family would like to thank the caring and phenomenal staff of Saint Francis Cancer Center for giving Joanie such excellent care, especially during her extended stay this past month.
