Judy Rohr, 78, of Jackson, passed away unexpectantly on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at her home.
Judy was born in St. Louis, Missouri on September 26, 1945 . She was very proud of her upbringing on a dairy farm in Festus, Missouri where she grew up surrounded by love and frequent get-togethers with her large, extended family of cousins, aunts and uncles. Judy’s many talents and hobbies included designing quilts, machine embroidering, sewing, following the lives and accomplishments of her grandchildren, completing puzzles with her grandson Derek, traveling (which varied from camping in a fifth wheel, taking cherished “Cousin Cruises” with her extended family, and international trips to Scotland and England), and cooking way too much food for the holidays.
Judy spent her retirement doing anything but “retiring”. Her list of volunteer activities was long and included the following: being a member of the Jackson and Cape Girardeau Evening Lions Clubs, representing children as a child advocate with the family court system, and honoring veterans at the Veterans Memorial in Perryville, Mo. This attributes to the deep shock and sadness her family now feels with her sudden passing. She was an all-or-nothing person who typically gave all she had while going 100 miles-a-minute. From her volunteering to her caring for her grandchildren, she will be missed.
She is survived by her loving husband, Cary; children Ron (Karen) Randen of Neosho, Missouri, Michael (Melissa) Randen of Jackson; and Nicole (Patrick) Henn, of Burton, Michigan; sister, Marilyn (Terry) Yesberg of Crystal City; brothers, Mike (Joyce) Roth of Herculaneum, Gene (Sharon) Roth of DeSoto; step-children Greg Rohr of Ottawa, Kansas; Kelly Rohr of Chicago, Illinois; Adrianne (Steven) Heithoff of Elkhorn, Nebraska; 17 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Potts and parents, Clyde and Leola Roth.
A memorial visitation is scheduled from 4 to 8pm, Friday, April 12, 2024, at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, Missouri.
A graveside service will be held at 10 am, Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Rose Lawn Cemetery in Crystal City, Missouri.
