Mr. Robert (Bob) Renne, 86 of Gordonville, passed away peacefully, late Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, after a long struggle with illness.
He was born August 11, 1929 near Gordonville, the son of Joseph and Helen Siemers Renne, He and Betty Gerecke were married February 15, 1958.
Bob was a lifelong resident, farmer, and carpenter of the Gordonville area. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church of Gordonville, and served in numerous roles in the church over the years. Bob was affectionately known as “Pop” to his family. He will best be remembered on his blue Ford tractor, plowing, planting and making hay, and watching over his livestock. He taught his family to appreciate farm life. Pop loved his family, his farm, and his cattle. He enjoyed the simple things in life: cherry pie, a Sunday nap, watching Hee Haw, and a daily toothpick.
Loving survivors include his wife, Betty, of 58 years; a son, Mark (Cheryl) Renne of Foristell, Missouri; two daughters, Robin (David) Lukefahr of Kirksville, Missouri, Janet (Bret) Brazda of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; a brother, John (Mary) Renne of Gordonville; nine grandchildren, Andrew (Karen) Lukefahr, Abbey and Aaron Lukefahr, Jacob (Jamie) Brazda, Jordan (Will) Skaggs, Jayden Brazda, Kyle, Eric, and Logan Renne; and a great-grandchild expected in June.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Donald “Huck” Renne.
Friends may call from noon until service time on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Christ Lutheran Church in Gordonville.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, at the church with the Rev. Mike Gallagher officiating.
Interment will follow in Christ Lutheran Cemetery in Gordonville.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to Christ Lutheran Church or Cemetery.
