She was born March 2, 1942 in St. Louis, to Ulysses C. and Eva Staats Gould. She and Rev. Ellis A. Grant were married December 21, 1958.  They had been married nearly 48 years when Ellis passed away December 14, 2006.

Ruth Ann was a graduate of Zalma High School.  She later earned her LPN from the Cape Vo-Tech Center. She enjoyed playing the piano and spending as much time with her grandchildren as possible. She also supported and assisted her husband at the various churches where he served.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four siblings, Thelbert and Jim Gould, LaDonna Kerns and LaDenna Murphy.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 29th, from 5:30 p.m. to service time, at Connection Point Church in Jackson.
