Ruth Ann Grant age 74, of Jackson, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Heartland Care and Rehab Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born March 2, 1942 in St. Louis, to Ulysses C. and Eva Staats Gould. She and Rev. Ellis A. Grant were married December 21, 1958.  They had been married nearly 48 years when Ellis passed away December 14, 2006.

Ruth Ann was a graduate of Zalma High School.  She later earned her LPN from the Cape Vo-Tech Center. She enjoyed playing the piano and spending as much time with her grandchildren as possible. She also supported and assisted her husband at the various churches where he served.

Loving survivors include three sons, Rev. Michael (Anita) Grant, Stephen Grant (Nancy Thompson), Charles (Alisha) Grant all of Jackson; six grandchildren, Ashley (Trey) Ferrell, Adam (Allie) Grant, Ethan (Amber) Grant, Bethany Grant, Arabella and Lillie Grant; two great-grandchildren, Hunter and Hannah Ferrell; and one sister, Eleanore Carr of Advance.  Ruth Ann was anticipating the birth of two great-grandchildren very soon.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four siblings, Thelbert and Jim Gould, LaDonna Kerns and LaDenna Murphy.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 29th, from 5:30 p.m. to service time, at Connection Point Church in Jackson.

A memorial service will be held at 7 pm, Tuesday, with her sons, Rev. Michael Grant and Stephen Grant officiating.

Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield at a later date.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to Relay for Life or the American Cancer Society.
