Violet S. Reynolds, age 96, of Jackson, passed away Sunday, August 6, 2017 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born July 4, 1921, in Bollinger County, Missouri, daughter of John Wesley and Ada Mae Watkins Schreiner.  She and Lowell “Toby” Reynolds were married September 1, 1940.  He passed away October 26, 1991.

Violet was a 1939 graduate of Jackson High School.  She worked at International Shoe Factory in Jackson and sold Avon products for many years.  Violet was baptized at New McKendree where she belonged to the quilter’s club, Naomi Circle and WSCS. She was a member of Eastside Homemaker Club in Jackson, the Scottish Rite Ladies Auxiliary and was past Worthy Matron and had received a 50 year pin from Jackson Eastern Star Chapter #91.

Loving survivors include a brother, Don (Magdelene) Schreiner of Jackson; two grandchildren, Terri (Dennis) Brown of Oak Ridge and Kim (Darren) Launius of Perryville, Missouri; a son-in-law, Nelson Morton of Kampville, Illinois; six great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell “Toby” Reynolds, a daughter, Carol Morton and a sister, Norma Mayfield.

The visitation will be from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 11, 2017 at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.  The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. David Israel officiating.

Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

The family suggests that contributions be made to New McKendree United Methodist Church.
