Arlene Blanchett, 93 years old, of Cape Girardeau, passed away Sunday August 19, 2018 at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born July 28, 1925, in Minneola, Kansas, daughter of Richard Eugene and Mignon N. Riley Hall and was one of twelve children of that union. She and Samuel Robert “Bob” Blanchett were married January 16, 1944 in Dodge City, Kansas.
Arlene and Bob lived in Minneola, where Bob worked for the Natural Gas Pipeline of America. They were transferred to Illinois, Texas and then to Jackson, Missouri in 1966.
She was a long-time member of New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson. Arlene enjoyed traveling in their RV and playing dominos, cards and board games; which she usually won.
In addition to her husband of 74 years, Bob Blanchett, loving survivors include; three children, Les (Jane) Blanchett of Victoria, Texas, Carolyn (Charlie) Snyder of Conway, Arkansas and Bruce Blanchett (Darla Womick) of Burfordville; four grandchildren, Amy Blanchett, Josh Blanchett, Matt Blanchett and Gabe Snyder; four great-grandchildren and a brother, Larry (Delores) Hall.
She was preceded in death by seven brothers and three sisters.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson, with the Rev. Jimmie Corbin officiating.
The family suggests that contributions be made to New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson.
