Donald R. McQuay, 66, of Jackson, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2019 at his home in Jackson.
He was born June 30, 1953 in Mirkwood, Missouri son of Donald M. and Melba Arthur McQuay. He was first married to Patricia McQuay, she preceded him in death. He and Joy Clippard were married on March 19, 1999 in Cape Girardeau and she survives.
He was President of Cape County Park Board and retired from Cape Girardeau County as Director of Public Works. Donald was a member of Lynwood Baptist Church; The Elk’s Lodge # 2652 in Jackson, River City Rodders. and was a huge NASCAR Fan.
Loving survivors include sons; Joseph Andrew (Leslie) Hoover of Jackson and Jonathan D. (Sarah Cohn) Hoover of St. Louis; two daughters Shaelyne (Kyle) Meadows of Louisville, Kentucky and Kaitlyn McQuay of Jackson.
Also surviving are eight grandchildren Halle Hoover, Chace Hoover, Violet Hoover, Coraline Hoover, William Hoover, Liam Meadows, Jovie Meadows and Warren Meadows; and a sister Pamela (David) Grimes of Cape Girardeau.
He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife Patricia.
The memorial visitation will be Wednesday, October 23, 2019 from 4-8PM at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The celebration of life service will be 11am on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at the funeral home with the Rev. Kevin Coffee officiating and eulogist Bryan Sander, Eric McGowen. Honorary Pallbears will be the grandchildren and Quinton and Tatum Lee and Sophia Sides.
Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
The family suggests that contributions be made to Lynwood Baptist Church and Cape County Parks Department.
