Dorothy E. (Bolitho) Makins

Dorothy E. Makins, age 92, of Jackson passed away Friday, September 6, 2019 at her home.

            She was born January 3, 1927, in Detroit, Michigan, daughter of John E. and Julia May Lynchard Bolitho.  She and Harold Edward Makins were married April 26, 1946, in Detroit.  He passed away May 2, 2014.

            Dorothy graduated from Northwestern High School in Detroit in 1945.  She and Harold moved from Detroit to Jackson in 1971.  When her health permitted, she was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 91, in Jackson.

            Loving survivors include a son, Daniel (Margaret) Makins of Jackson; a daughter, Judy (Kathy) Makins of Columbia, Missouri; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

            There will be a Celebration of Life from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, September 21, 2019 at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

            Inurnment will be at a later date in Michigan.
