Kimberly Kaye Launius, age 54, of Perryville formerly of Jackson, passed away Monday, May 27, 2019 at her home.
She was born August 2, 1964, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Nelson and Carol Reynolds Morton. She and Darren Launius were married November 14, 1998.
Kimberly was a 1982 graduate of Jersey Community High School in Jerseyville, Illinois. In 1984, she moved to Jackson and attended Cape Cosmetology School, graduating in 1985. Once she was graced with children, Kimberly decided to stay at home and be a career mother and homemaker. She enjoyed being a mother and grandmother. In 2003, Darren suffered an accident which required Kimberly to become his full time caregiver.
In addition to her husband of 20 years, Darren Launius of Perryville, loving survivors include her father, Nelson Morton of Kampsville, Illinois; a son, Dustin Sebastian of Perryville; two daughters, Jessica (Steven) Cook and Brittney Emery of Perryville; a step-daughter, Brandi Williams of East Prairie, Missouri; six grandchildren, Skyler, Bailey, Emma, Addison, Alyssa and Abigail, and a sister, Terri (Dennis) Brown of Oak Ridge.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
A visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. A Memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jimmie Corbin officiating.
The family suggests that contributions be made to Multiple Sclerosis Association of America or the American Heart/Stroke Association.
