Loustell Ann Ludwig, age 83, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born August 2, 1936, near Burfordville, daughter of William A. and Ruby A. Fluegge Aufdenberg, Jr. She and Joseph Edwin “Joe” Ludwig were married June 1, 1958, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tilsit. They were married 55 years when he passed away February 11, 2014.
Loustell was baptized at home on August 2, 1936 and confirmed April 2, 1950 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tilsit. After she and Joe were married, she became an active member of St. John Lutheran Church in Pocahontas. She helped Joe raise livestock and crops on a farm they owned near Pocahontas. Later she worked at Lenco in Jackson. She worked at various day care centers in the Jackson area, until her retirement. Loustell enjoyed sewing, cooking, and spending time with her family.
Loving survivors include four children, Brenda (Pat) Wissman of Cape Girardeau; Gary (Catherine) Ludwig and Ruth (Dennis) Moran of Patton, Missouri and Beverly (Darren) Ross of Stevensville, Michigan; ten grandchildren Amanda Wissman, Bob (Amber) Ludwig, Greg (Rebekah) Ludwig, Alex (Liana) Bazzanella, Marissa (Dwayne) Cossins; Christopher (Katelyn) Ludwig, Blake Ross, Nathan Ross, Zachary Ross and Abby Moran; nine great-grandchildren, Alexa and Lyulf Schniedermeyer, Trevor Wissman, Jesse and Carson Ludwig, Kyle, Ava and Leah Bazzanella and Mackenzie Ludwig; six siblings, Elfrieda (the late L.R.) Williams, Carol (Walter) Kutscher, Richard W. (Judy) Aufdenberg, Loretta (Melvin) Uelsmann, Mary (Ralph) Walther and David (Carla) Aufdenberg, all of Jackson.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Joe Ludwig.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, 2019 in chapel A of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson, and from 9:00 a.m. until service time Friday, Aug. 9, 2019 at St. John Lutheran Church in Pocahontas. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Lawrence Bradt officiating.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to St. John Lutheran Church in Pocahontas.
