Margie B. Casteel, 86, of Cape Girardeau, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2019, at the Lutheran Home Assisted Living East, in Cape Girardeau.
She was born November 23, 1932, in Scott City, Missouri, to Walter J. and Helen Brooks Cassout.
Margie was the second employee and first female employee to be hired by Procter and Gamble. She worked there 23 years, retiring in the early 1990’s.
Margie enjoyed the company of John Hensley and together they attended Unity Baptist Church in Benton until his passing in 2011.
Surviving family members are a son, Randy (Becky) Casteel, their children, Travis (Susan) Casteel (children Maxwell and Simon) and Katie Casteel, all of Cincinnati, Ohio; and a son, Jim (Lea Anne) Casteel, their son Hunter Casteel (Ms. Sloane Johnson), all of Cape Girardeau.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Connie Casteel; her parents; a brother, Charles R. (Sharon) Cassout; and her dear friend, John Hensley.
Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
The funeral is at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dennis Lowe officiating. Burial will follow at Lightner Cemetery in Scott City, Missouri.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to the Lutheran Home Assisted Living East.
