Michael Wayne Mathews

Michael Wayne Mathews, 55, of Jackson, passed away, Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at his home in Jackson.

He was born November 29, 1963, in San Diego, California, son of Clifford Eugene Mathews and Margaret Ann Blanks. He and Bernadette Bernier were married November 29, 1981.

He worked for Procter and Gamble for 29 years.  Some of his favorite hobbies included fishing and hunting. His true enjoyment though was spending time with his family and his fur baby Muffins.

Loving survivors include his wife of 37 years of marriage Bernadette of Jackson; two daughters Tabitha (Chad) Adams of Cape Girardeau and Amanda (Andy) Salzman of Jackson and five grandchildren.

Also surviving are two brothers Clifford (Lori) Mathews of Tucson, Arizona and Jeffrey (Monica) Mathews of Biloxi, Mississippi.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Celebration of life will be at 6:30PM on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at Fruitland Community Church, with the Rev. Mike Parry officiating.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to Siteman Cancer Institute for Colon Cancer.
