Perry Moore “Tim” Barnes, 70, of Jackson, passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at Senior Life Style in Sikeston, Missouri.
He was born November 6, 1948, in Mexico, Missouri, to Clyde V. and Mattie F. Barker Barnes. He was a 1968 graduate of Mexico High School.
Tim entered the U.S. Navy on June 26, 1968. He served 45 months of his 48-month enlistment in sea service near Vietnam. He received the National Defense Service Medal and a Meritorious Unit Commendation Medal. He was honorably discharged June 20, 1972.
Tim returned to Mexico and worked many years as a brick setter for the former Kaiser Refractories, and then for the State of Missouri in Fulton, Missouri. Tim enjoyed hunting and gardening.
Loving survivors include a daughter, Sondra Barnes of Mesa, Arizona; three sisters, Patricia (Sid) Carpenter of Guernsey, Wyoming, Pamela (Larry) Badino of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, Jackie (Bruce) Wortmann of Jackson, Missouri; several nephews, nieces; great-nephews and great-nieces; and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert F. Barnes.
Tim will be privately laid to rest with military rites at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
