Aletha L. (Grant) Brown

Aletha Lou Brown, age 93 of Jackson, passed away Saturday, July 3, 2021 at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born October 24, 1927 in Cape Girardeau, the daughter of George and Ella Grossheider Grant.

Aletha and Donald W. Brown were married October 26, 1947 in Jackson.

She was a graduate of Jackson High School and had attended Southeast Missouri State College in Cape Girardeau. Aletha was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson where she was a former Sunday school teacher and a member of the Concordia Guild. She worked many years at Ceramo Company in Jackson. She and Don enjoyed traveling, boating, camping, taking group trips, reading and especially time with family.

Loving survivors include her husband of 73 years, Donald W. Brown of Jackson; two children, Donald J. (Marilyn) Brown and Tina L. (Bill) Presser both of Jackson; four grandchildren, Heather (PeeWee) Bartels of Jackson, Nathan (Brittany) Brown, of Jackson, Brent (Mandie) Presser of Jackson, and Mark Presser of Portland, Maine; and seven great-grandchildren, Joanie Presser, Nolan and Holden Bartels, and Joel, Lydia, A.J., and Abigail Brown.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and sister in laws, Harold (Mary Lou) Grant and Joe (Edna) Grant.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 6, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. to service time at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

Funeral will be Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at 1:00 p.m., at the funeral home with Rev. Joshua Schmidt officiating.

Interment will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

The family suggests memorials to be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson.
