Antoinette 'Toni' (Quatmann) Walters

Antoinette Q. "Toni" Walters, 84, of Jackson, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at Chateau Girardeau in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

She was born April 10, 1940, in Cape Girardeau, to Joseph Henry and Marian Haas Quatmann.

Toni was a graduate of Notre Dame High School in Cape Girardeau and Fontbonne College in St. Louis. She was a sister of St. Joseph of Carondelet in St. Louis from 1965 to 1975, and taught in parochial schools in St. Louis and Kansas City, Missouri.

She and James Walters were married January 10, 1976, in Kansas City, Missouri. Together they worked in church ministry and religious education at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Kansas City, Missouri. They had been married 29 years when James passed away February 17, 2005.

To cherish her memory, Toni leaves her siblings, Jim Quatmann of Phoenix, Arizona; Bob Quatmann of Eureka, Missouri; Ted (Loida) Quatmann of Jackson, Missouri; Larry (Clare) Quatmann of St. Louis; Cathi (Jerry) Stoverink of Jackson, Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and a sister, Sister Vicki Quatmann SL.

Reverand Bob Stone will celebrate funeral Mass at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 13, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Parish on 75th Street in Kansas City, Missouri. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivette Catholic Cemetery in Kansas City, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates contributions to Birthright in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, St. Elizabeth Parish in Kansas City, Missouri, or any Catholic charity of your choice.
