Ardell Seabaugh

Ardell Seabaugh, 81, of Jackson, passed away Friday, September 28, 2018, at the Monticello House in Jackson.

He was born May 9, 1937, in Sedgewickville, to Marvin L. and Lettie E. Green Seabaugh.  He and Helen Southard were married April 29, 1962, at New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson.

Ardell was a graduate of the former Patton High School.  He was a lifelong farmer and mechanic.  He co-owned and operated United Auto Salvage in Sedgewickville with his brother-in-law, Ray Southard, and worked many years at Johannes Auto Salvage in Jackson, retiring in 1999.  He then worked several years in residential construction.

Ardell had been a member of Little Whitewater Baptist Church since 1948.  He was an avid league bowler at the Jackson Lanes and was a Cape Girardeau USBC Hall of Fame member.

Loving survivors include his wife of 56 years, Helen Seabaugh of Jackson; two children, Terry (Laura) Seabaugh of Cape Girardeau and Traci (Jim) Foltz of Sedgewickville; eight grandchildren, Tyler Seabaugh of Dickinson, North Dakota, Garrett Seabaugh and fiancee, Lauren Stegeman of Dickinson, Amanda (Brent) Presser of Jackson, Dalton Foltz (Lauren) of Patton, Ryan (Mikayla) Foltz of Jackson, Alexander “Bert” Foltz, Bethany Foltz, and Isabella Foltz, all of Sedgewickville; seven great-grandchildren, Cole Seabaugh, Luke and Lane Foltz, Joanie Presser, Payton, Allison, and Scarlett Foltz; a brother, Norman (Wilma) Seabaugh of Millersville; two sisters-in-law, Roberta Seabaugh-Allen and husband Martin of Oak Ridge and Cathy Coduti of Jackson; and a brother-in-law, Ray Southard of Cape Girardeau.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lonnie Seabaugh.

Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m., Monday, October 1, 2018, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral is at 11 a.m., Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Don Estes officiating.  Burial will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
