Bernice A. Krahn, 84 of Jackson, passed away Sunday February 18, 2018 at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born August 10, 1933 in Friedheim, daughter of William Christian and Ada Louise Moeller Kester. She and William R. "Bill" Krahn were married September 1, 1956. He passed away March 25, 2012.
Bernice was baptized, confirmed and married at Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim. She was a 1951 graduate of Perryville High School. In 1958, she and Bill moved to Jackson. They joined St. Paul Lutheran Church in 1960 where she was a member of the Ladies Aid Quilting and Crafts for over 30 years. Bernice was a talented seamstress and truly enjoyed quilting, which was evident in her work. She also enjoyed the St. Paul Wednesday morning Bible Study group.
Loving survivors include two daughters, Kristine (Mark) Kruse of Columbia, Missouri and Kathleen (Tim) Sherman of Wentzville, Missouri and six grandchildren, Dan, John, Jordan, Andrew, Megan and Madison.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
The visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at St. Paul Lutheran Church. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Jason Shaw officiating.
Interment will be at 3 p.m. in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri.
The family suggests that contributions be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or School.
McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson is in charge of arrangements.
