Bertha Lou (Summers) Haupt

Jackson, Missouri

Bertha Lou Haupt, 91, of Jackson, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, September 21, 2020.  She passed away at the Villas of Jackson, where she had been living the past 2 ½ years.  The family extends a special thank you to the staff at the Villas for their loving care and support.

She was born October 28, 1928, in Millersville, to Boyd and Bertha L. Sander Summers, Sr.   She and Wilbert Haupt were married September 2, 1949, in Chaffee, Missouri.  They had been married nearly 46 years when Wilbert passed away May 12, 1995.

She was a charter member of Crossroads Fellowship in Jackson and a former member of First Baptist Church in Jackson.

Loving survivors include two daughters, Yvonne (Randy) Friedrich of Jackson and Barbara (Brent) Chenoweth, both of Jackson; six grandchildren, Erica (Will) Montgomery of Cape Girardeau, Baret (April) Vickery of Jackson, Kent and Alex Friedrich of Jackson, Derek (Angie) Chenoweth of Melbourne, Florida, and Greg Chenoweth of Cape Girardeau; five great-grandchildren, Isaac and Aleah Vickery, Caden, Gavin, and Chloe Chenoweth, three siblings, Boyd (the late Juanita) Summers, Jr., Elvira (Gib) Urhahn, both of Jackson, and Dan (Jan) Glenzy of O’Fallon, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert Haupt; and three siblings, Lloyd (Wilma) Summers, Virginia (Quentin) Felty, Winnie (Ralph) Dumey; and an infant brother and sister.

A private celebration of life will take place at a later date, with Dr. Brian Anderson officiating.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to Crossroads Fellowship Church, 4400 E. Jackson Blvd., Jackson, MO 63755.

Cremation arrangements by McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
