Beth Ann Smith, 52, of Millersville passed away Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2021, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

She was born May 25, 1968, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Eddie and Linda Talley Owen. She and Robert W. Smith were married Nov. 26, 1988, at Millersville Baptist Church.

Beth graduated from Scott City High School and started her working life at Thorngate, then went to Columbia Sports Ware, Lee Rowan and Rapco, before a short stint at Jackson Manor. From there Beth went to work in the home health care field with Extra Hands and was their first employee. Over the last two years, she also worked with Crossroads in home care.

Beth loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a true Earth Angel, loving everyone she could.

Loving survivors include her husband of 32 years, Robert W. Smith of Millersville; a daughter, Rebecca Smith of the home; her parents, Eddie and Linda Owen of Scott City; maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Riggs of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Nancy (Greg) Roth and Danielle Owen, both of Scott City; a brother, Joseph (Victoria) Owen of North Carolina; nephews, Michael and Destin Roth, and Oliver and Jackson Owen; and nieces, Sierra Roth and Cambry Owen.

She was preceded by maternal grandfather, Elden “E.K.” Riggs, and paternal grandparents, James and Inez Owen.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. Masks must be worn in the funeral home at all times and any time social distancing cannot be observed.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Kevin Rhodes and Mark Carbaugh officiating. Interment will follow in Caney Fork Cemetery near Daisy.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to Caney Fork Cemetery Fund.
