Beatrice "Betty" Ann Bogenpohl, age 78 of Jackson, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2018 at the Monticello House in Jackson due to deteriorating conditions caused by Alzheimer's disease.
She was born July 29, 1939 in Old Appleton, Missouri, the daughter of Alphonse and Flora Unterreiner Rellergert. Betty was married to Don E. Bogenpohl on October 3, 1959 at Zion Lutheran Church in Pocahontas.
Betty was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church in Pocahontas and had participated in their Lutheran Women's Missionary League. In her younger days, she enjoyed cooking, baking, embroidery, dancing, and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include her loving husband Don of over 58 years; four children, Cynthia "Cindy" Jensen of Jackson, Laurie Anderson of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Deanna (Dan) Barber of Osage Beach, Missouri and Darin Bogenpohl of Jackson: nine grandchildren, Joshua (Raquel) Jensen, Alexis (Daniel) Howell, Seth Jensen, Nathan (Ashli) Jensen, Brandon Anderson, Brock Anderson, Brooke Anderson, Luke Barber, Caden Bogenpohl; two great grandchildren, Aiden and Liam Jensen.
Also surviving are four siblings, Marilyn Schicker, of O'Fallon, Missouri, Wayne (Vicki) Rellergert, of Foristell, Missouri, Jerome (Cheryl) Rellergert of Rhineland, Missouri, and Doug (Janice) Rellergert of Wentzille, Missouri.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Jerry and Norbert Rellergert, and a son-in-law, Brian Jensen.
Visitation and funeral services will be conducted at Zion Lutheran Church in Pocahontas with visitation to be Sunday, January 14th, from 3-7 pm and Monday, January 15th, from 9 am until time of service.
Funeral service will be Monday at 10 am at the church with Rev. Virgil Kelm officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family would like to especially thank the Monticello House and Preferred Hospice for their kind and compassionate care that was extended to Betty while in their care.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association or to Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund.
All floral deliveries and gifts are to be delivered to the church.
McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson is in charge of arrangements.
