Broken Arrow

Listen to Obituary

Beverly Jean (Nothdurft) Ridings, 77, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, formerly of Delta, Missouri, beloved mother and grandmother, went to heaven on Friday, January 23, 2026, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, surrounded by her family.

Beverly was a 1966 graduate of Delta High School. She subsequently attended Southeast Missouri State University before she married Jimmy E. Ridings, the love of her life, on May 23, 1970, at First Baptist Church in Delta. They had been married 46 years when Jimmy passed away on March 9, 2017.

A proud and devoted mother, Beverly dedicated her life to raising her three children, Tami, Jimmy, and Amy. They were the center of her world. She shared an especially close bond with her daughters, who were not only family, but her closest friends. She was always there when they needed her: as someone to talk to, as a shoulder to cry on, or as someone to bring a banana cream pie or pot of soup when someone was sick. With her son, she was his fiercest supporter — from little fields to junior high diamonds, she never missed a game, cheering as the ultimate baseball mom.

Her love grew even deeper with the arrival of her grandchildren. She looked forward to every movie night with them watching Halloweentown or Ernest Scared Stupid with a bucket of popcorn, and she watched enough Dora the Explorer to last a lifetime. She doted on her grandchildren endlessly, creating countless cherished memories.

Beverly also treasured her friendships, many longstanding from the time she was little. She loved spending countless hours on the phone talking about the latest gossip or the newest reality TV show. Her conversations were something people looked forward to and will deeply miss. What she’s perhaps best known for is her infectious laugh. When she laughed, everyone knew exactly who it was and couldn’t help but smile. She will be greatly missed and forever loved.

She is survived by her loving daughters and son, Tami (Nick) Framel and Amy (Aaron) McColloch, both of Broken Arrow, Jimmy Ridings; grandchildren: Jessica (Dustin) Ledgess, Dillon Warren, Ashlynn Buffington, Addison Buffington, Cameron McColloch, and Calista McColloch; great-grandchildren Brynlee Ledgess, Weston Warren, and Mason Ledgess; a brother, Don (Dawn) Nothdurft of Whitewater; nephew, Kim (Martha) Nothdurft of Jackson, Missouri; niece, Tonya (Steve) Balistreri of Naples, Florida; great-nephews and great-nieces: Salli Jo (Jeremy) Bollinger of Jackson; Dustin (Kimberlie) Nothdurft of Whitewater; Landon Shipley of St. Louis; and Taryn (Phillip) Cardona of Santa Monica, California; great-great nephews and great-great-nieces Lane, Ty and Kierstin Bollinger, Kole Nothdurft, twins, Jaxon Alexander and Savannah Grace Shipley, and Pierce Shipley Cardona.

Beverly was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jimmy E. Ridings, and her parents, Russell B. Nothdurft and Vera J. Nothdurft.

Visitation is from 9:30 a.m. to service time, Saturday, January 31, 2026, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. The Rev. Randy Conn will conduct the funeral service at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 31, 2026, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Beverly’s name to either St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Street Cats of Tulsa. Beverly had an affinity and love for St. Jude. Additionally, all who knew Beverly well knew how much comfort and love her dear cat Cassie brought her following the passing of her husband, Jim. Cassie was adopted as a rescue from Street Cats of Tulsa, and when Beverly got too sick in the last months of her life to love on her, Street Cats found Cassie another loving home to live the rest of her days.
