Billie Lee Schweer

Billie “Bill” Lee Schweer, 77, passed away Saturday, October 11, 2025, at his home, with family.

He was born January 5, 1948, in Cape Girardeau, to Eugene Dale and Wanda Lee (Martin) Schweer.

He was a 1965 graduate of Jackson High School. In 1967, he entered the US Army and served his country until his honorable discharge in 1969.

On June 26, 1966, Bill married the love of his life, Lucille (Birk) Schweer at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson. Together they shared 59 years of marriage and raised 2 children Terry and Tracey.

Bill owned and operated Bill’s Heating and Cooling for many years, but his passion was with his horses and working on the farm. Horse camping with family and friends was his way of relaxing. He was a devoted family man who truly cherished his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He lived a full life, leaving behind countless memories for all those that knew him.

Loving survivors include his wife Lucille Schweer; son, Terry (Stacy) Schweer; daughter Tracey (Jason) Proffer; grandchildren, Brittney Schweer, Beth (Jeremy) Schweer, Morgan (Devin) Stone and Bailey Proffer; great grandchildren, Kase and Kayelor Hann, Willow Stone, and baby girl, Harper Stone expected on January 22, 2026; brother Larry Schweer; sister Barb (Craig) Floyd; two nieces, Katie (Nick) Biri and Amy Langston and their children.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. to service time, Thursday, October 16, 2025, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. Veterans of Altenthal-Joerns American Legion Post will conduct an honor guard service at 1 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home, followed by the funeral ceremony conducted by the Rev. Sam Roethemeyer. Military honors will be rendered at the funeral home. Interment is private.
