With a heart full of love and a life well-lived, Billy Eugene Sullivan joined his heavenly family on March 24, 2025, at the age of 90. He left behind a legacy of laughter, warmth, and family and friends who will forever cherish his intelligence, quick wit, and limitless friendliness. He leaves behind his loving wife, Doris, their four children, grandchildren, and a growing number of great-grandchildren who will miss him dearly. Bill showed us all what it means to love deeply and to cherish every moment with those who matter most. Bill's world revolved around family. He and his beloved Doris, after a whirlwind romance that blossomed into 67 years of joy, built a life focused on love, service, and togetherness. Their years together were filled with countless visits to see their grandchildren-each one bringing him immense joy. Though he loved hunting, fishing, golfing, square dancing, traveling, and cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals, Bill always believed family was the greatest gift. Another of Bill's strengths was his belief in hard work. From his early days working in the cotton fields to serving his country in the Air Force during the Korean War, Bill worked tirelessly to build a better future for his loved ones. After his military service, he worked for the Federal Aviation Administration in the early world of computers. A lifelong learner, Bill was the first in his family to earn his high school diploma eventually obtaining a college degree at the age of 40. Bill's generous spirit was evident in his many volunteer efforts-reading to students, visiting veterans, leading his American Legion post, and helping at St. Paul Lutheran Church in countless ways. Volunteering gave evidence of his faith, which was a quiet strength, guiding him through the ups and downs of life and giving him comfort. Bill's Christian faith was unwavering, and he looked forward to the day when he'd be reunited with his parents, siblings, grandsons, and friends in the arms of his Savior. When you think of Bill, just smile and remember all the good times, the laughter, and the warm feeling you got when you were with him. Rest in peace, Bill. You've left the world a little brighter for having been in it. Services are Thursday, March 27, 2024, at St Paul Lutheran Church, in Jackson, Missouri.
