Bobby Johnson

Bobby L Johnson, 87, of Cape Girardeau went to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ, at 4 a.m., Sunday Morning, July 16, 2017, at Southeast Missouri Hospital, with his wife and children at his side.

He was born Nov. 5, 1929 near Millersville, MO to Charlie and Grace (Statler) Johnson. He married Margene Thoma on December 28, 1956 in Jackson they were married over 60 years.

Bob became a born again Christian in 1971 and was a member of Lynwood Baptist Church in Cape. He served his country in the Army during the Korean War. Bob was a life-long farmer, he enjoyed working the ground. In addition to loving his family he loved his dog BooBoo and all of his granddogs, grandcats and grandchickens.

Loving survivors include his loving wife Margene, two sons Robert Johnson (LaDonna Menz) of Marble Hill and David (Angela) Johnson of Whitewater; two daughters, Laurie Johnson of Cape Girardeau and Brenda Johnson of Cape Girardeau; two grandchildren Clayton (Christina) Johnson and Kayli (Cody) Naramore; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother J. R. Johnson, sister, Betty Johnson Job, and an infant brother.

The visitation will be Tuesday, July 18, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. to service time, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at the funeral home with Rev. Mark Anderson officiating.

Interment will be in Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family suggests that memorials take the form of contributions to Lynwood Baptist Church or Chaffee Nursing Home.
