Bobby Jean Wendel

Bobby Jean Wendel, age 86, of Jackson passed away Wednesday April 1, 2020 at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 3, 1933, near Tilsit, son of Martin Henry and Nelda Elizabeth Kasten Wendel. He and Barbara Lee Schreiner were married August 2, 1952.  She survives.

Bobby graduated from Jackson High School. He was a member of New McKendree Methodist Church in Jackson. He worked for Fisher Auto Parts in Jackson and after 25 years of service he retired from Proctor and Gamble in 1995. Bobby never meet a stranger, he had a big smile and a boisterous voice and laugh, with an even louder and bigger heart. He loved and enjoyed people no matter who you were or where you came from. Bobby will be missed by many.

Loving survivors include his wife of 67 years, a son, Michael (Tandy) Wendel and a daughter, Kathy (David) Fadler both of Jackson, four grandchildren, Jaime (Skip) Stroder of Crump, Stacie (Steven) Dotson, Matthew (Kyndal) Fadler all of Jackson, and Justin (Wesleyan Lynn) Fadler of Chester, Illinois,  five great grandchildren, Cody (Elizabeth) Schremp, Tyler Stroder, Grant Dotson, Evan Dotson, and Jensen Fadler, a brother, Charlie (Diane) Wendel and a sister, Shirley Soehl  both of Jackson.

Also surviving are numerous brothers and sisters-in-laws, several nieces and nephews, and many friends and neighbors.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Due to current health concerns, the family will honor Bobby with a private visitation and service, with Rev. Jimmie Corbin officiating.

A memorial celebration of Bobby’s life will be announced and held at a later date.

Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or charity of choice.
