Bonnie Metheny, 98, of Oak Ridge, Missouri passed away peacefully to her eternal home Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at the Villas in Jackson, Missouri. Bonnie was born on December 16, 1926, in Fornfelt (Scott City), Missouri, to her parents Thomas and Velma Bradley Clark. Bonnie married Thelbert Lee Metheny in Arkansas on August 25, 1944. They had three sons: Tommy Metheny of Marble Hill, Robert Metheny of Labadie, Missouri, and William Metheny of Knoxville, Tennessee. Bonnie married a career Navy man. His career took them from Norfolk, Virginia, to San Diego, California, to Yokosuka, Japan, and back to San Diego before Lee retired in Coronado, CA in 1959. After retiring in 1959 they settled on a small farm in Oak Ridge. Bonnie was a stay-at-home mother raising their sons. Bonnie was a strong woman of faith and was a life member of the Oak Ridge Methodist Church. Loving survivors include her three sons, four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister, a brother, and a great grandson. The visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time on Monday, April 7, 2025, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. The Rev. Mike Cowan will conduct the funeral service at 10 a.m., on Monday, April 7, 2025, at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau. The family would especially like to thank the wonderful professional people of the Villas of Jackson and Crown Hospice. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Villas of Jackson or Crown Hospice.
