Carl Scott Bollinger

Carl “Scott” Bollinger, age 54, of Jackson, MO, passed away peacefully in his sleep during the early hours of Thursday, July 23, 2026, with his wife and best friend, Saundra, by his side. Scott was a loving husband, dad, grandpa, and son.

Scott was born on August 4, 1971, in Cape Girardeau, MO, to Carl James and Janet Proffer Bollinger. After graduating from Meadow Heights High School in 1989, he joined the United States Marine Corps, honorably serving his country until being medically discharged.

He went on to dedicate over 30 years to continuing the family business, Bollinger Poultry Farms—a poultry distribution company based in Patton, MO. He built his career on long hours, an honest day’s work, and countless miles on the road. It was all made worth it by the friendships he built while supporting small local businesses—sharing hugs, handshakes, and inside jokes behind meat counters, inside freezers, and in the kitchens of local restaurants, often topped off with a simple bologna sandwich. His absolute favorite workdays were those when his children accompanied him as shotgun riders, compensated handsomely with breakfast pizza from Patton Junction and a Bug Juice.

Outside of work, Scott was known for his passion for Kentucky Wildcats basketball, cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, and mastering the grill. He could often be found in a lawn chair at his grandson’s T-ball games, enjoying comedy shows, cuddled up on the couch with his dog, Allie, or out on the golf course with his sons-in-law.

Scott had a unique gift for fun and a genuine love of laughter. Hardly anyone around him went by their actual name; he conjured up personalized nicknames for everyone, making each person feel uniquely special. Scott loved to hum and sing constantly, always managing to get far more lyrics wrong than right.

To cherish his memory, he leaves his wife of nearly seven years, Saundra Bollinger of Jackson; children, Taylor (Mason) Noe of Jackson and Carlie (Nick) Stiebel of Saint Peters, Missouri; Bradyn Bollinger of Jackson; Austin Gonzaque of Jackson; Aundrea Gonzaque of St. Louis, Missouri; grandchildren, Makai, Madden, and Miller Noe, Hazel Bright, and Naomi Gonzaque; his mother, Janet (late Carl) Bollinger of Patton; and siblings, Carson (Shelly) Bollinger and Neal Bollinger of Sedgewickville; and Amy (Karl) Schroeder of Houston, Texas; several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Bollinger.

Celebration of Scott’s life will be held at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. Visitation is from 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday, July 26, 2026.

The Rev. Charles Buck will conduct the funeral service at 10:30 a.m., Monday, July 27, 2026, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Scott’s memory to the Veterans Home Foundation (Cape Girardeau).
