Carroll Ann Kirchherr

Carroll Ann Kirchherr, 67 of Jackson, passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2018, surrounded by her loving family, at her home.

She was born, December 11, 1950, in Pike County, Missouri, daughter of Herbert Orville and Annabel Carroll Griffith. She and Robert "Bob" Kirchherr were married October 27, 1973.

Carroll was a graduate of Louisiana High School in Louisiana, Missouri. She earned a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from Truman State (formerly Northeast Missouri State University), and a master degree in Elementary Counseling from Southeast Missouri State University. She taught school many years but especially enjoyed teaching kindergarten.

Carroll had a joy for life and liked to travel. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Jackson. .

Survivors include her loving husband of 44 years, Bob of Jackson; two children, Adam Kirchherr of Cape Girardeau and Jill (Bradley) DeRoo of Chicago, Illinois; two siblings, Dan (Sandra) Griffith of Southport, North Carolina and Louise (Richard) Hedges of Frankford, Missouri; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The visitation is Friday, January 12, 2018, from 4 to 7 p.m., at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral is Saturday, January 13, 2018, at 2 p.m., at the funeral home, with the Revs. Audie Long and Don Estes officiating. Burial will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to World Vision, a global Christian humanitarian organization battling the causes of poverty and injustice.
