Cathy Jane Overbeck

Cathy Jane Overbeck of Jackson passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 surrounded by her family at Mercy Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born March 24, 1957, in Cape Girardeau, to Jimmie and Mary Diamond Maglone.

On January 19, 1979, Cathy married David Overbeck in Jackson, and together they built a loving family and had four beautiful children, Matthew, Robert, Crystal and Amy.

Cathy graduated from the Cape Girardeau Beauty School in 1989. Cathy went on to work at Fountainbleau Lodge and the Missouri Veterans Home for over 25 years. She attended the Zion Methodist Church in Gordonville. In her free time, Cathy enjoyed Friday Night date nights with David, and crocheting prayer shawls. She loved her babies and grandbabies and will forever be known for her heart full of love.

Loving survivors include her husband David Ovebeck, four children Matthew Dees, Robert Dees, Crystal Overbeck and Amy Shepperd all of Gordonville along with 16 precious grandchildren, four great grandchildren and one baby due any day as well as a sister Vonda (Roger) Sczepanski of Wisconsin, and a brother Robbie (Ramona) Maglone of Scott City; a step brother Wesley (Debbie) Masterson of Jackson, many nieces and nephews and a special cousin Becky Stinnett.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Larry Maglone and Bobby Cook as well as a sister, Mary Ann Gonzales.

A memorial service will be held from 5pm to 6pm, Friday March 27, 2026, at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Following the memorial service, the Rev. Wavis Jordan will conduct a celebration of life service at 6 pm.
