Charles D Amelunke

Charles Don Amelunke, age 85 of Cape Girardeau and formerly of Whitewater passed away Thursday, August 14, 2025 at his home.

He was born November 5, 1939 in Texas the son of Alvin and Eunice Boatwright Amelunke. He and Ella Mae Scholz were married April 5, 1961. She preceded him in death September 19, 2024.

Loving survivors a son, Randy Amelunke of Cape Girardeau; siblings, Perry (Jolene) Amelunke of Whitewater, and Kathy Bellew of Fredericktown, Missouri; four grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, Ella Mae of 63 years he was preceded in death by his parents, a son Larry Amelunke, and siblings, Nancy Hester, Ruby Needham, Earl Amelunke, and Bob Amelunke.

The visitation will be from 9 am until service time on Monday, August 18, 2025, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The Rev. Joe Allen will conduct the funeral service at 11am, Monday, August 18, 2025, at the funeral home.

Interment will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

The family suggests that contributions be made to the church or charity of donor’s choice.
