Charles M. Seyer, 80, of Jackson, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2024, at Ratliff Care Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born May 24, 1943, in Cape Girardeau, to Andrew “Andy” and Colletta Rose Westrich Seyer, Sr. He and Imelia “Millie” Brockmeyer were married August 19, 1967, at St. Mary Cathedral in Cape Girardeau. Two daughters were born to their union, Christina “Christi” and Linda.
Charles was a 1962 graduate of Oak Ridge High School. He was a Squad Leader in the Missouri National Guard, honorably serving from 1962 to 1968.
Charles was a plumber, working many years with the Construction Industry Laborers. He was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson. He was a former member of Bishop Timon K.C. Council in Jackson, and a former member of the Coon Hunters Association.
Charles enjoyed gardening, wood cutting, fishing, and hunting, especially deer and turkey hunting. Above all, he and Millie enjoyed spending time with their grandchildren.
Loving survivors include his wife of nearly 57 years, Millie Seyer; a daughter, Linda (David) Henson; a son-in-law, David (late Christi) Lohmann; granddaughter, Courtney Lohmann; grandsons, Clayton and Dalton Lohmann, Cody and Dylan Henson; sister, JoAnn (Raymond) Clements; and two sisters-in-law, Rita (the late Elmer) Seyer and Semina (the late Lester) Seyer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, seven siblings: Andrew (Bert) Seyer, Jr., Elmer Seyer, Lester Seyer, Viola (Clem) Kirchdorfer, Lavada (Elmer) Clements, Berniece (Melbourne) Koehler, Rose (Wilson) Pair; and an infant brother, Chester Edwin Seyer.
Visitation will begin with the observance of Parish Prayers led by Father Randolph Tochtrop, at 3 p.m., Monday, May 13, 2024, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. Visitation will conclude at 8 p.m.
Father Randolph Tochtrop will celebrate funeral Mass at 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson. Interment and military honors will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
In lieu of flowers and plants, the family appreciates memorial contributions to My Team Triumph, Birthright, or the church or charity of your choice. Memorial envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
