Clarence R. Dittmer, 86, of Jackson, passed away Friday, January 29, 2021 at his home.
He was born March 11, 1934 in Lacona, Iowa, son of Edward and Mary G. Shaffer Dittmer. He and Delia R. Larson were married November 27, 1954, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Boone, Iowa.
Clarence was a 1952 graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Boone. He worked in the Machinist and Aerospace Workers Union as a station agent, with TWA and Ozark Airlines, retiring after 36 years. Clarence was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson. He was a diehard Cardinals Baseball fan and loved sports.
Loving survivors include his wife of 66 years, Delia, of Jackson; five children, Michael Dittmer of Stockton, California, Janet (the late Philip) Hoeland of Wanaque, New Jersey, Dave (Jeanie) Dittmer of Jackson, Jill (Kevin) McGarrah of Seattle, Washington, Richard (Angie) Dittmer of Van Buren, Missouri; a brother, Edward (Kay) Dittmer of Lake Lure, North Carolina; grandchildren, Christopher (Natalie) Dittmer; Jeri Lehto, Alyssa Attaway, Whitney (Matt) Fluegge, and Madison Dittmer; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and seven brothers and five sisters, a granddaughter, and a great-grandson.
A memorial prayer mass will be Friday February 12th, at 10 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Church in Jackson MO, with the Father Randy Tochtrop officiating.
Inurnment will be in Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation in Jackson was entrusted with the final arrangements for Clarence.
