Cledith "Dean" Wills

Cledith “Dean” Wills, 82, of Cape Girardeau passed away Thursday, May 7, 2020, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Feb. 23, 1938, in Oak Ridge to the late Pearl and Juanita Cobble Wills. He and Betty Williams were married April 5, 1969. She passed away March 6, 2018.

Dean worked as a heavy equipment operator his entire life, working for several outfits in the local area and retiring from Drury’s. He was very involved as an adult leader in the Boy Scouts, most notably with Troop 311. He was a member of the Order of the Arrow and a volunteer at Camp Lewallen.

Dean was also a member of the Connection Point Church.

He is survived by three sons, Dennis (Michelle) Jones of Millersville; Robbie (Teresa) Jones of Calvert City, Kentucky; and Jamie (Jennifer) Wills of Millersville; three daughters, Debbie Blauvelt of Texas and Tammy Niswonger and Prudy Selsor, both of Jackson; a sister, Pat McCall; and two brothers, Jim and Bill Wills. A very special nephew, Bill (Nancy) Williams, Dean considered a son. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and one on the way.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the mausoleum at Cape County Memorial Park with Pastor Kevin Mann officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association, 9370 Olive Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63132-3253.
