David Alan Sailer

David Alan Sailer, 61, of Jackson passed away Friday, March 19, 2021 at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born December 9, 1959 in Cape Girardeau, son of Calvin Victor and Verla M. Voges Sailer. He and Kandi Rapp were married July 3, 1981, in Jackson.

David was an owner and operator for Sailer Roofing for his entire working career. He was a member of Christ Evangelical United Church of Christ. His hobbies were fishing, spending time at the lake, and gardening.  He proudly spent time helping and donating material to the senior citizens of the church and community. His true enjoyment in life was spending time with his grandsons.

Loving survivors include his wife of nearly 40 years, Kandi Sailer; two sons, Joshua David (Tara) Sailer of Jackson and Jacob Daniel (Kali) Sailer of Hayward, California; four grandsons; Oliver, Calvin, Connor and Elliot Sailer; his mother, Verla Sailer of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Lisa (Kevin) Elfrink of Fruitland; and mother in law, Judith Bryant of Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his father, Calvin Sailer.

Memorial visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until service time Sunday, March 28, 2021, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

A memorial service will be at 4:00 P.M., Sunday, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Debra Tracy officiating.

Inurnment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson at a later date.

In lieu of flowers and gifts the family suggests contributions be made to Cape Girardeau County Sheriff Department.
