Dennis Shade

June 6, 1944 — March 26, 2015

Dennis D. Shade, 70, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2015, at Jackson Manor Nursing Home in Jackson, Mo., where he resided the past several months.

He was born June 6, 1944, in Lakeview, Michigan, to Charles and Marie Echols Shade. He and Patricia "Pat" Cooper were married October 17, 1964, in Flint, Michigan.

Dennis and Pat resided in Flint, Pontiac, and Saginaw, Michigan. In 1976, they moved to Missouri, first St. Louis, then Louisiana and Gerald, Missouri respectively. Dennis enjoyed a 38-year career in insurance sales working as district manager for Washington National Life Insurance. Thereafter, he worked five years for the Missouri Prison System in Vandalia and Bowling Green.

Dennis and Pat were members of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Gerald, Missouri.

Loving survivors include his wife of 50 years, Pat of Jackson; four children: Dennis (Nena) Shade and daughter Amandalyn of Jackson; Jonathan (Lisa) Shade and sons Joshua and Christopher of Pacific, Missouri; Tina (Chris) Bertocchini and children Danielle and Jacob; Joseph (Kim) Shade and children Guy and Samantha of Troy, Missouri; and a sister, Vivian (the late Lester) Amburgey of Muskegon, Michigan.

Other survivors include Pat's siblings, Ed (Janet) Cooper, Paul (Janice) Cooper, Jay (Kim) Cooper, Keith (Carol) Cooper, Lorinda (Bill) Wasmiller, and Mary (Russ) Agnello, all of Michigan.

He was preceded in death by an infant grandson, Tyler Edwin Shade; two sisters, Charlene Drake, Vera Gill; and his parents.

Visitation will be Saturday, April 4, 2015, from 10 AM to service time, at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

A memorial service will be held at noon, Saturday, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Glenn Hollander officiating.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to Jackson Manor Nursing Home. Please note contributions "In Memory of Dennis Shade".
