Deo Earl Wolfe

Deo Earl Wolfe, 93, of Jackson, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2024 at his home.

He was born September 8, 1930 in Columbia City, Indiana, the son of Herbert Edward and Mary Luella Humbarger Wolfe. Deo married Evelyn Simmons June 29, 1962 she passed away August 29, 1977. On October 21, 1978, he married Mary Dell Dickerson Penrod.  She preceded him in death February 14, 1988. Deo married Janet Minner April 12, 1990.  She survives.

Deo was a 1949 graduate of Columbia City, Indiana High School. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force honorably serving from July 31, 1951 to April 21, 1965.   At the time of his discharge he had earned the rank of Staff Sargent.

Deo worked several years at the former Superior Electric Company in Cape Girardeau and later worked many years for the Cape Girardeau Public Schools, retiring July 1, 1995.

He also was a volunteer 10 years for the Gordonville Fire Department and was a member of Shawnee Hills Baptist Church in Jackson.

Deo enjoyed woodworking, making furniture, and reading western novels.

He is survived by his wife Janet of 34 years; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife Evelyn, and his wife Mary, he was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a brother.

A memorial visitation will be held from 2 to 3 p.m., Thursday, May 30, 2024 at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The Rev. Don Estes will officiate a memorial service at 3 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home, followed by full military honors.

Memorial contributions may be made to Shawnee Hills Baptist Church.
