Don Schreiner

Don Schreiner, 89, of Jackson passed away October 3, 2024, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. Born July 24, 1935, in Jackson, to John Wesley and Ada Watkins Schreiner, he was the sixth of six children. He was a 1953 graduate of Jackson High School. Don and Patricia Clippard were married on June 16, 1957. Two children were born to their union, Scott and Julie. They had been married 53 years when Pat passed away September 2, 2010. Later, he married Magdeline Lopes. Don worked at Wagoner's Machine Shop and Lee Rowan in Jackson. From 1976 to 1999, he was Vice President and General Manager of Forklifts of Cape Girardeau. Don was a member at the New McKendree Church in Jackson, Masonic Lodge in Jackson, the Grand Order of the Sword of Bunker Hill in Jackson (now Cape Girardeau), and Cape Shrine Club. He often helped families by transferring children to Shriner's Hospital for medical attention. Loving survivors include his children, Scott (Elisa Spencer) Schreiner of Parkville, Missouri and Julie Morgan of Cleveland, Ohio; grandchildren: Christopher Schreiner of St. Louis; Jeremy (Suzanne) Schreiner and children Reilly and Oliver of St. Louis; Michelle Spencer of Bellingham, Washington; Abbie (Joe) Wing of St. Louis; and Grace Phillips of Nashville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Schreiner; two sisters, Violet (Lowell "Toby") Reynolds and Norma (Larry) Mayfield; a young sister, Georgia Mae Schreiner, and two infant siblings. Memorial visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m., Sunday, October 6, 2024, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. A Masonic service will be held at 2 p.m. Immediately following, the Rev. Jimmie Corbin will conduct a memorial service.
