Donald R. Gaston

Donald R. Gaston, age 70, of Jackson, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2016 at his home. He was born April 5, 1946 in Mount Vernon, Illinois to Charles W. and Anna Mae Morton Gaston. He married Laura J. Stein September 17, 1966.

Donald was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the United States Marine Corps from 1964 thru 1967 at which time he was honorably discharged. He worked 24 years as a technician for Xerox and ten years for Best Buy, retiring in 2003. He also was a member of American Legion Post 158 in Jackson.

Loving survivors include his wife of over 50 years, Laura; a son Mike (Heather) Gaston, of Jackson; a daughter, Sandy (Steve) Malpezzi, of Ferndale, WA; five grandchildren, Mae and Jake Gaston, and Anthony, Thomas, and Timothy Malpezzi; two sisters, Jeannell (Mike) Charmin of Salem, Illinois and Melissa (Tony) Almaguer of Austin, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Ron Gaston.

Visitation will be Friday, December 16, 2016 from 11:00 am until time of service at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The memorial service will be at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Jeremy Clayton

officiating. Military Honors will be conducted during the service.

The family suggests that contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
