Donald Jacobs, 87, of Cape Girardeau passed away Sunday, June 30, 2024, at Mercy Southeast. He was born September 22, 1936, in Cape Girardeau, son of Earl I. and Grace Wilfong Jacobs. He and Nettie James were married on January 31, 1988, in Cape Girardeau. She passed away June 20, 2024. Donald was a graduate of Patton High School. He enlisted in the US Air Force and served 27 years. He was stationed at numerous locations around the world. Upon retirement, he and his wife Nettie started a custom graphics and type setting business. Donald enjoyed pickle ball, taekwondo, the St. Louis Cardinals and was an avid fisherman. Loving survivors include his son, Donnie E Jacobs Jr of Holts Summit, Missouri; two stepdaughters Paula (Kevin) Mills of Patton and Lorri Vails of Jackson; stepson, Terry (Ann) Drum; seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Nettie Jacobs, parents, and daughter, Cheri Lynn Gordon. The visitation will be from 10-12pm on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. The Rev. Kevin Mann will conduct the funeral service at 12pm, Wednesday, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Post Oak Cemetery in Patton, with full military honors. The family suggests that contributions be made to Post Oak Cemetery.
