Donald Russell Mason

Donald Russell Mason, age 81, of Jackson passed away Sunday, May 26, 2024 at Chateau Girardeau Care Facility in Cape Girardeau. He was born November 28, 1942 the son of Russell Lee and Dora Carolyn Clingingsmith Mason. Donald was a 1960 graduate of Jackson High School. He earned his Bachelor's degree in 1970 from Southeast Missouri State University, majoring in Geography. He worked in the warehouse at Procter and Gamble for 28 years, retiring in 1998. After retiring he volunteered his time at St. Francis Medical Center and Jackson Senior Center, where he also served as a driver. Donald was a life-long member of First Baptist Church in Jackson and was a former Sunday school teacher for many years. Loving survivors include his sister, Jean Mason of Jackson and a number of cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister Edith Ann Mason. Memorial contributions may be given in Donald's memory to First Baptist Church of Jackson or to the American Cancer Society. A memorial service will be held at 10 am Friday, June 28, 2024, at First Baptist Church in Jackson with Rev. Randy Riley officiating. The burial will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Bakers Cemetery in Marble Hill.
