Donald William Sandin

Donald William “Don” Sandin, age 78 of Jackson passed away at his home Thursday, January 8, 2026.

He was born November 23, 1947 in Des Moines, Iowa the son of the late Kenneth and Lois (Anderson) Sandin. He married Geraldine “Gerrie” Thiele on August 17, 1968 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson.

Don was a 1966 graduate of Cape Central High School in Cape Girardeau. He served in the Missouri National Guard 1140th in Cape Girardeau. Don worked as an electrician at Noranda Aluminum in New Madrid, Missouri. He was an Amateur Radio enthusiast and a 41 year member of the Cape Elks Lodge 639 in Cape Girardeau.

Loving survivors include his wife Gerrie of Jackson; two children, Stacey (Kyle Hatcher) Money of St. Charles, Missouri and Willie (Melissa) Sandin of Jackson; five grandchildren, Garrett Money, Andrew (Kaley) Money, Morgan Money, Devin (Megan Gallaher) Sandin, and Lauryn Sandin; a sister, Connie Sandin; and a nephew, Michael Haggard.
