Dorothy Mary Kluesner

Dorothy M. Morie Kluesner, age 90, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at the Chateau Girardeau in Cape Girardeau, MO.

On August 23, 1936, in Dutchtown, MO, she was born to the late Michael Anthony and Mary Ann “Mayme” Horrell Morie.

Dorothy was a 1955 graduate of Jackson High School in Jackson, MO.

After graduation, she married the love of her life Bernard W. Kluesner on October 1, 1955, in Jackson, MO. He preceded her in death on December 31, 2025.

Before her retirement, Dorothy had been employed by J. C. Penny as a bridal consultant.

Dorothy was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ladies Sodality of Immaculate Conception, Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, and was a 4-H Club leader.

Dorothy is survived by her son. David Kluesner (Adam Taloni); her daughters: Denise (Tom) McDowell and Linda (Mike) Haynes; her brother in law Ron Hinkebein; her brother Larry ( Carol) Morie; seven grandchildren: Brittney (Josh) Lee, Blair (Zach) Huckstep, Seth (Jenny) McDowell, Chelsea McDowell (William) Mpaka, Michael Haynes II, Zachary (Jordi) McDowell and Lauren (Jacob) Billings; eleven great grandchildren: Rhett Huckstep, Asher Huckstep, Bryson Lee, Payton McDowell, Parker McDowell, Porter McDowell, Judah McDowell, Truett McDowell, Ayla Mpaka, Lillie Billings and Mary Mae Billings.

In addition to her parents Michael and Mayme and her husband Bernard, she was preceded in death by her daughter Susan Hinkebein, infant sister, and her brothers Herbert and John Morie.

Visitation will be on Monday, September 28, 2026, from 4:00-7:30 p.m. at the McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson, MO. Rosary Prayers will be at 7:30 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at 9:30 a.m. with Fr. Randy Tochtrop as Celebrant.

Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Cape Girardeau, MO.
